Tunica River Watch – Casinos Begin Reopening

Tunica is open!  We may not be at 100% yet, but then again who is after Ol’ Man River punches you in the gut!  The Mighty Mississippi tried it’s best to keep us down, but didn’t bet on the resilience of a great state like Mississippi. Tunica River Watch – Update May 11

The Mississippi River reached its crest on the Memphis river gauge on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 47.8 feet.  This is the second highest reading of the river’s level matched only by the 48.7-foot crest on February 10, 1937 and well above the great flood of 1927 that reached a level of 45.8 feet on April 23, 1927.
